Windshield Tour of the Newport News Shipbuilding

    Tour Information

    The deadline to register for the tour is August 25! The tour is limited to the first 60 registrants. Each participant will be asked to complete a security form which must be completed and sent it one month prior to the tour. All participants must be US citizens and will be asked to present two forms of identification at the time of the tour (E.G. a current passport or an original birth certificate along with a current drivers license). No cameras (including phones) or recording devices will be allowed inside. 

    Attendees will see 2½ miles of James River waterfront where all Navy nuclear powered aircraft carriers are built as well as half of the Virginia Class submarine fleet. This will include potentially observing activities related to the in-process FORD-Class carrier construction, in-process NIMITZ-Class aircraft carrier reactor plant complex overhaul (RCOH), in-process submarine construction, in-process Enterprise decommissioning, in-process new facility maintenance, construction and upgrades; all undertakings supported by the 20,000+ shipyard employees and assorted contractors and Navy personnel.
