Infrared Sensors: Capabilities and Limitations

  • Wednesday, September 20, 2017
    8:00 am – 9:30 am

    Session Information

Attendees of this session will receive an overview of Infrared (IR) phenomenology from both an historical as well as technical perspective. This session will go through the basics of the IR portion of the spectrum to better understand distinctions among Near, Mid and Far IR and why these distinctions are important for collecting and understanding imagery and data. Atmospheric influences as well as aspects of emissivity and reflectivity will be included, particularly how they can adversely influence data interpretation across many applications, from surveillance to energy loss audits.
